AKTEPE OLIVE OILS
The production of Aktepe Olive Oils started in the historical Inn, which was built between 1887-1888 in Ayvalık - Altınova. This Inn has taken the title of the most famous Inn (guesthouse) between Çanakkale and İzmir and has been a resting place for travelers for many years.
The owner of the Inn, Ziya Şükrü Şensal, changed this Inn into an olive oil factory and flour mill in 1940 and started producing olive oil and flour. (In addition, Ziya Şükrü Şensal was the Mayor of Altınova between 1942 and 1949.)
Working as a flour and olive oil factory under the management of Ziya Şükrü Şensal until the 1970s, the mill passed to the management of Ziya Şensal after this year and served only as an olive oil factory. He also served as TOBB Commission President between the years of 2000.)
Although a few changes were made in the mid-1980s, until 2006, it continued to produce with traditional methods such as stone crushing and pressing (wet printing).
The factory, which has been completely changed and modernized after this year, meticulously processes the olives collected from the olive groves of the family and continues its production with the Aktepe registered brand as the third generation in its continuous facility with ISO 9001:2008 (quality management system) and ISO 22000:2005 (food safety management) certificates.
The daily olive processing capacity of the factory is 40 tons and the company, which operates in October - November - December - January every year, offers all its oils to the consumer, the first two months of which are early harvest.
The characteristic of the company is that it produces Ayvalık Olive Oil Geographically Indicated natural extra virgin olive oil obtained only from Ayvalık type olives. In addition, all the oils produced are stored in chrome tanks and air-conditioned warehouses.
